Marcie Culbert is 18 years old and currently living in the city of Hamilton Ontario, attending the Journalism program at Mohawk College. Growing up she remembers watching her older brother reading books that look quite large to her (for example certain Harry Potter books) thinking he was crazy for doing nothing but reading. That was until she got attached to the book series A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. This was the first book series that she was actually able to engage herself in. When the movie adaptation came out, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed. Ever since whenever a book she loves gets turned into a movie she gets excited to see it and hope that it doesn’t disappoint her in the end. She strongly believes that books will always be better then their movie counterparts, but she tries to have an open mind while watching the movie and be objective as possible. Some other books Marcie has now read that have been turned into a movie consist of; The Twilight saga, Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and her current personal favorite The Hunger Games series.
